Cookie Notice

Version 2.0

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small file that a website places on your device. The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations also cover technologies with a similar effect, such as a browser's local storage. In this notice, "cookies" includes those technologies.

A website may use cookies that are strictly necessary for a service you have asked for without your consent. Other cookies need your consent unless the law provides an exception.

2. Our website, softcare.uk

Our website does not set cookies and does not use your browser's local storage. It does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or session recording, so it does not show a cookie banner.

Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser sends your IP address and browser details to Google so that it can deliver the fonts. This does not place a cookie on your device.

3. The SoftCare application, app.softcare.uk

The application uses the following cookies.

Name Set by Purpose How long it lasts
sc_refresh SoftCare Keeps you signed in. It cannot be read by scripts on the page and is sent only over a secure connection to SoftCare. Until you sign out or your session expires
__cf_bm Our hosting provider's edge network Distinguishes people from automated traffic to protect the application. 30 minutes
ph_..._posthog SoftCare, using PostHog Product analytics: counts which pages of the application are used, so that we can improve it. Identifiers in page addresses are removed before they are sent. Session recording and automatic capture of clicks and typing are switched off. Up to one year

The application also uses your browser's storage to keep you signed in while the browser is open, and to remember display preferences and unfinished work, such as your colour theme and how you like the rota laid out. These stay on your device.

The application is used under an agreement between SoftCare and your organisation. The data the application processes is covered by our Data Processing Agreement at softcare.uk/dpa.

4. Managing cookies

Your browser lets you see, delete and block cookies. Blocking sc_refresh will sign you out of the application. Blocking the analytics cookie does not affect how the application works. Guidance is available at ico.org.uk.

5. Changes

If we start to use any other cookies, we will update this notice first, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.
